My Weekend in a Place Up North Where They Speak Kinda Strange

April 20, 2001

Dear folks,

Greetings my fellow Americans or "Bun jur" as they say up here. I flew up here to Quebec with my Quebecan interpreter this afternoon. Sure is nice to get out the office and not have to think about global warming or peace in the Mid-west.

Well, I came up here to talk trade and apparently there were people from all states representing the Americas. But there are only 34 states here. Like I can see right off that New York and Illinois decided not to show up, and it wouldn't surprise me if Rhode Island and Wyoming didn't either.

Think we might talk a little 'bout NAFTA, or the Natural Alliance for Free Trading of Athletes, for those of you that don't know about it. This helps us bring more hockey players in from Canada and shortstops from the Dominican Republic. Of course, it means we gotta send a lot quarterbacks and linebackers up to Canada to play in their so-called football league -- I mean three downs, c'mon.

Well talk to yawl later.

- George
