New Station Introduced for Apologizing Comics
postdocme.net has learned that -- because there is never such a thing as too much television -- a new cable station, The Why Canât We Be Friends Network, will soon be set up for comedians to apologize for bad jokes or ill-timed comments they have made in their professional careers.
The channel will open with Jay Leno expressing regret for a monologue in which he joked about a Korean speed skater eating his dog. That will be followed by Bill Maher ruing his statements about the courage of the terrorists following the September 11 attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C.
Later in the day, viewers can see highlights of Jackie Mason saying he was sorry for derogatory comments he made about David Dinkins during the 1989 New York City mayoral race.
The rest of the programming schedule will be filled with shows dedicated to Andrew Dice Clay, Tom Green and Jason Alexander for his recent flop "Bob Alexander."
Because comedians currently spend more time apologizing than delivering monologues, the station is certain it will not run out of material anytime soon.
