Jones-Harding Debate Coming to Peoria

Peoria Public Television is pleased to present an upcoming debate on the current crisis in Zimbabwe with guests Paula Jones and Tonya Harding. The moderator will be William F. Buckley, Jr.

The contestants will have an hour to debate their varying views on the subject of the difficulties and challenges of establishing democracies in 21st century Africa.

"The event promises to be an exciting one. No doubt, Ms. Jones will try to exploit Ms. Harding’s weakness in the field of agrarian reform in Africa. Whereas, I look to Ms. Harding to utilize her uncanny mastery of urban development issues," said Mr. Buckley.

The preliminary debates will include Todd Bridges from "Diff’rent Strokes" and Rob Van Winkle, the artist formerly known as Vanilla Ice, firing at each other over the ramifications of the U.S. withdrawal from the Kyoto Protocol.

Afterwards, Barry Williams from the "Brady Bunch" and Danny Bonaduce from "The Partridge Family" will dig into the potential risks of extended military involvement in the war against terrorism.

Peoria was chosen to host the debates after Washington, D.C. backed out of the arrangement, citing security fears that might come from excessive crowd interest.
