Vuvuzela.com Taken

Over the weekend, Mr. postdocme.net decided to add to his vast media holdings by investigating the possibility for procuring the vuvuvzela.com domain name. (He probably was not the only virtual media baron who contemplated this purchase.)

Alas, it was not to be. An enterprising individual purchased the domain on May 16, 2004.

According to Vuvuzela.com, “The domain was registered the day that South Africa was awarded the 2010 soccer world cup with a view to growing the site into an important resource to help visitors and South Africans to find what they wanted in South Africa and elsewhere in terms of travel related activities.”

“The site has also been created to promote the numerous forms of Vuvuzela available in South Africa and for which demand will increase enormously as the 2010 World Cup appraoches.”
