Trading Suspended on Capello Index

The Capello Index, a controversial fantasy soccer website named after England head coach Fabio Capello, has been put on ice until after the World Cup following an outcry from the British press, fans and the English Football Association..

The game would have used statistical data to judge a player’s performance. Concerns grew that part of the venture might include Capello rating his own players during the World Cup.

Capello introduced the game on the London Stock Exchange on Monday before it unceremoniously had its plug pulled the next day.

All the pages of the Capello Index website have been removed aside for a message on the home page which announces that the game will be coming soon.

The product was the brainchild of Austrian firm Como Games Management.
