An unseasonably wet and stormy June is responsible for a precipitous drop in the number of stork nestlings in Hungary this year, according to the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Association.

Storks returned to their summer nests in many parts of Central Europe this week as the weather in the region became more spring-like.
Storks usually stay until the end of August before their return trip home.
