Summer Comedy ‘Accepted’ Opens Online Yearbook
The makers of the summer comedy film Accepted (coming out August 18th)
have extended their presence on the Internets with this new
college yearbook that anyone and everyone can take part in by filling in a form.
The film centers around a young man named Bartleby “B” Gaines who – frustrated over
being rejected by every institute of higher education imaginable – decides to start
his own college, the South Harmon Institute of Technology.
Accepted with Lewis Black and Justin Long
Those of us who received those ever-so polite letters wrapped in a small envelope –
whether they be from Harvard, MIT, USC or Walla Walla Community College — can well
relate to the storyline that inspired
Accepted,
with Justin Long, the infamous Mac guy, and Lewis Black from the Daily Show.
Long stars as Bartleby Gaines, the consummate college reject, who much to the chagrin
of Mom and Dad, looks to be spending his first year out of school behind a fast food
counter. So many times has young Bartleby been refused admission that hope has
nearly been abandoned, until one day when genius strikes.
With the help of a few office computer programs and an empty hospital
building, Bartleby is able to establish the South Harmon Institute of
Technology, which soon becomes a haven for hundreds of average students like him.
Hilarity ensues, thanks in no small part to Lewis Black, the master
of the artful and hilarious harangue, who appears as the
ersatz dean of the college and who is worth the price of admission alone.
You might need to suspend your disbelief for 90 minutes, but would college
be without a little detour from reality.
