The Money Pit
In this delightful comedy romp from executive producer Steven Spielberg, a young couple (Tom Hanks and Shelley Long) buys a rambling fixer upper at a price that turns out to be too good to be true. After being evicted from their Manhattan apartment, Walter Fielding and Anna Crowley decide to purchase a house in the suburbs that they intend to turn into the home of their dreams. It isnât long before their potential paradise becomes their worst nightmare as they watch the house slowly disintegrate in a series of unforgettably hilarious disasters! The Money Pit is sure to tickle anyone who has ever tackled a home renovation project gone wrong.
The 'Burbs
Ray Peterson (Hanks) decides that a week at home is the most relaxing vacation he can imagine. His plans for a peaceful respite are upset by the strange goings on in his suburban neighborhood. When a cranky neighbor disappears, Ray begins to suspect foul play and enlists the help of the neighborhood conspiracy freak (Bruce Dern) in his sleuthing. Despite the warnings of his dubious spouse (Carrie Fisher), Ray and his buddies investigate their newest neighbors, the Klopeks. They discover what they believe to be a front for a cannibalistic cult in this outrageous and suspenseful comedy from director Joe Dante (Gremlins).
