English soccer star David Beckham is coming to America. Real Madrid,
his current team, failed to renew his contract; thus Becks and his wife
Mrs Beckham, otherwise known as Posh, are on their way to Los Angeles,
where he will play for the Galaxy.
Not since Pele's arrival in New York has the sport, infamous
for its nil-nil draws and horrific overacting, generated so
much excitement in North America.
Beckham will now be another Englishman to make an impact on the American
airwaves -- joining his fellow charming and delightful compatriot
Simon Cowell.
