POLL Which Briton(s) Did Gwyneth Paltrow Have In Mind?
In an interview with a Portuguese newspaper released this weekend, actress Gwyneth Paltrow was quoted as saying the following: ""The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans."
In a piece in People magazine yesterday, Gwyneth asserts that she never made that claim. What's more, she adds, "When you look at the rest of the world, we're so lucky, and that's something my dad always instilled in me. I feel so proud to be American."
That second statement sort of takes all the fun out of our poll. So, why don't we just ignore it
and stick with the initial charge against her. What British person or persons could she have had
in mind when she said that those in the UK are "much more intelligent and civilized" than those in the US?
