Mr Madonna Adopted By DVD

When he's not busy being Mr Madonna, Guy Ritchie is behind the set directing films. And, prior to the success of Snatch, the English Quentin Tarantino drew critical acclaim through Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - which is now on DVD in an unrated Locked 'n' Loaded Director's Cut Edition.

Ritchie takes on a tour of a London far beyond the quaint tearooms, down to the rugged East End and the seedy denizens who inhabit it. This is rapid-fire MTV generation mayhem that had better hold your attention, for there is much to be followed.

In pure Tarantino-style a poker game goes horribly awry for the "heroes" of this tale, a gang of low-level crooks who must pay up the 500,000 pounds they owe to a porn kingpin or kiss their precious fingers good-bye.

These Einsteins of the underworld hatch a plan to obtain the money by robbing another band of criminals who in turn are planning to pull off a heist on a group of drug dealers - which brings us full circle to the original gang they are trying to pay off.

It all makes for an education in English society that someone eluded your high school history class.

Bonus features include a featurette on the making of the film and a celebration of the swear word in ""Lock, Stock and Two F**king Barrels."
