WATCH THE 'YOU NEED PEOPLE LIKE ME' SCENE

SEE A DELETED SCENE

Sure this a classic movie, but why should you go out and buy the new Scarface on DVD? Well, not only can you keep score of how many times the "f word" has been used throughout the film, you can also keep track of the number of bullets fired.

Roger Ebert did not have this at his disposal back in 1983 when he gave the film four out of four stars. Nor did he revel in the 20 deleted scenes, visit the world of Tony Montana, or find out from Al Pacino and other actors in the film about how their characters were created.

Brian de Palma's remake of a 1932 movie is just as exciting today as it was 23 years ago when it first hit cinema screens. But now on DVD every sound effect has been replaced and remixed: ie, bigger guns, bigger explosions and bigger overall sound.

Tony Montana (Pacino) is a minor Cuban criminal who has come to America after Castro unloaded his prisons. Montana and his partner Manny Ray (Steven Bauer) ultimately manage to leave the refugee camps, but their attempts to make a legitimate start in the Miami turn out to be unsuccessful.

They resort to selling cocaine. But as Montana's success in the underworld grows, so too does his paranoia and the list of people out to get him.

Michelle Pfeiffer is brilliant and memorable as Elvira.
