Queer Duck: The Movie
We know what you're saying to yourself. Haven't there been enough films about homosexually inclined
aquatic birds recently? What makes Queer Duck so special?
For one thing this bird has got four-time Emmy winner Mike Reiss (The Simpsons) writing his show tunes and
Jim J. Bullock, Tim Curry, David Duchovny, Andy Dick, and Conan OâBrien doing the voiceovers for he
and his fabulous friends -- Openly Gator, Bi-Polar Bear and Oscar Wild Cat.
The Queer Duck character began humbly on the Web five years for the Showtime site Sho.com.
From there it took wing (pun intended) and flew to new heights -- Internet hit, movie and now DVD.
Just how gay is this duck? Well, the cover says: the can't even fly straight.
But QD does try and walk the straight line as his marriage to Lola Buzzard
(who carries an astonishing resemblance to a particular gay icon named Liza) attests.
Ultimately, however, he realizes that he is what he is. And there's nothing wrong with that.
Other celebs who are subjected to animaed teasing are Rosie O'Donnell, Barbra Streisand, Michael
Jackson and Liz Taylor.
The DVD features 15, count 'em, 15 musical numbers.
