The Office: Season Two
The American sitcom oeuvre clearly owes a lot to British television.
Countless shows originally appeared on the other side of the ocean before
swimming to our shores. And only on a few occasions has the American version been able
to surpass its predecessor, for example Sanford and Son.
And another that perhaps does not surpass the Ricky
Gervais original but certainly competes is the American
variation of The Office. Now the hilarious mockery of those buffoons,
idiots, Romeos and quasi-tyrants we spend a good portion of our waking
hours with has been released on DVD in The Office: Season 2.
One thing the American office can brag is Steve Carell, who along with
the crew at The Daily Show towards unparelleled satirical heights for
America television. Thankfully, we have been seeing a lot of Carell
the past year in film and on this DVD which contains all 22 episodes
from last season, interviews, commentary, deleted scenes and some
you might have browsed on the Internet featuring the accounting
staff and the struggle to find the missing $3,000.
The gang at the Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company also employ some of the
best comic actors and writers this side of Cheers.
