Gerald McBoing Boing DVDs
This is the story of Gerald McCloy
And the strange thing that happened with that little boy
They say it all started when Gerald was two.
That's the age kids start talking
At least most of them do.
Gerald McBoing Boing, which won an Academy Award back in 1951 for Best Animated
Short and was herald for its use of limted animation, has made a popular comeback
with the present generation of animation enthusiasts thanks to the Cartoon Network.
Originally penned by Theodor Geisel, aka Dr Seuss, it tells the story of a young boy
who is only able to communicate through sounds and not speech.
Two recently released DVDs of the verbally challenged youngster --
Gerald McBoing Boing Adventures and Gerald McBoing Boing Fairy Tales --
are now gracing store shelves. They portray a world in which a six-year-old boy is
able is accepted by the community despite being different. Gerald solves problems,
humor his pals and be as mischevious as the next six year old.
Each disc contains six stories and the set is replete with various such as
a mini-reprint of the original Dr. Seuss book.
