Surface: The Complete Series
You never know what exists under the surface. Unless, of course
you happen to be Dick Cheney whose vantage point is 10 miles under the Earth's crust.
Space, on the other hand, gets all the glory while we tend to have
a lot less subterranean science fiction at our disposal. However,
now we can indulge that secret craving to explore what lies beneath
with the recent DVD release of Surface: The Complete Series.
As the words on the box so accurately assert: Water is the perfect
hiding place. This is what oceanographer Laura Daughtery (Lake Bell)
finds out the hard way as she takes on the task of finding the origins
of a mysterious creature lurking deep in the sea.
The original NBC series is, dare we say, Spielbergian in its suspense
as Laura's obsession slowly encroaches on the security of the planet.
The 4-disc set includes all 15 episodes from the show.
