Chappelle's Show: The Lost Episodes
It is hard to imagine Dave Chappelle going the route of some of his comic predecessors like Steve Martin,
Dan Ackroyd or Tom Hanks. Can you see Dave Chappelle appearing in "Cheaper by the Dozen"? No motherf**king way.
Chappelle's sudden departure from our televison screen now means that his irreverence is indeliably etched in the annals of comic history. It would now be hard for him to jump from kicking babies and pushing handicapped people down staircases to starring in a remake of "Father of the Bride."
And yet it's hard to think of him in the past tense. Especially, now that another tribute
assembled by his former colleagues at the show, Dave Chappelle: The Lost Episodes has just come out. "The Lost Episodes" highlight Chappelle's last, incomplete work at Comedy Central before he infamously bolted on his $50 million contract.
Nobody can lampoon Gary Coleman like Chappelle. Ditto for his Diddy. Add to that the miraculous musical talent that graces the show, and you have some of the best entertainment to be digitialized in a long time.
Dave don't be gone long. We miss you.
