NEWS Christopher Hitchens And His Middle Finger
There seems to have been a few changes in Oxford debating tactics since we last checked.
Christopher HItchens, the leading contrarian intellectual in America, found himself to be the only person in the room who held a particular position when appearing on "Real Time with Bill Maher" this weekend. This is not exactly unfamiliar territory for Hitch. And in this case it turned out to be a fairly large room.
So with what great verbal joust did he rebut? How did he decide to win the crowd over?
By flipping everyone off. By giving the audience the bird. By providing a one-finger salute.
