NEWS The Daily Show Welcomes John Oliver To Its Cast
"The Daily Show" welcomed a new member to its crew last night. John Oliver,
a UK comic who even the stodgy daily The Telegraph has billed as
"wildly funny", made his debut performance by ripping into British Prime
Minister Tony Blair and his toadying up to George Bush at the G8 summit
a couple of weeks ago.
Oliver has been a consistent presence at Edinburgh Comedy Festival for
the past several years and has appeared on numerous BBC programs such as
"My Hero", "People Like Us" and "Chambers".
While most news services are cutting back on the amount of money
they spend on foreign correspondents, it's good to see that
"The Daily Show" is once again going against the trend.
