Technical Virgin Melanie Martinez Fired By PBS
Melanie Martinez, the technical virgin, was just let go by PBS, the public broadcasting corporation that is not completely publc and that uses the kind donations of Americans to supply NewsHour anchors with grossly inflated salaries.
A couple of years ago Martinez did a spoof commercial for unplanned
pregnancies in which she claimed to be a technical virgin for engaging
in anal intercourse -- which is, you know, not the real thing. Since she now hosts a
kid's program, "The Good Night Show", the powers that be at
PBS considered the material inappropriate, even though it was made seven
years ago, or before most of her audience was born.
Would this mean that former NewsHour anchor and author Robert McNeil might have found himself on
the wrong end of public broadcasting executives for some of the salacious scenes in his novels?
In the interests of full disclosure, postdocme.net's President Sancho Glickman once served as an intern (ie, junior coffee maker) at the then-McNeil/Lehrer NewsHour back in the late-1980's).
