CHORTLER CHAT ROOM The Announcement of Pope Benedict XVI
Late yesterday afternoon at the Vatican, cardinals signaled the end of their two-day seclusion by sending puffs of white smoke through the chimney of the Sistine Chapel. A new leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Benedict XVI, had been selected. Here is how our panel of observers are greeting the announcement.
Funny, I thought I was closest to God.
I thought I was God.
How's my hair?
I can't believe those cardinals would have the nerve to knock me out of the headlines for a day.
Well, we both know what it is like to be chosen by our respective voters for life.
As you can see from the expression on my face I am overjoyed by this announcement.
