The Wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles Translated
The following is a translation of what was really said this Saturday.
Charles and Camilla: We acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and wickedness.
Translation: In case anyone might have forgotten, we're British.
Charles and Camilla: Which we, from time to time, most grievously have committed, by thought, word and deed.
Translation: Okay, two out of three. Like we said, we're British.
Archbishop: Charles, have you resolved to be faithful to your wife,
forsaking all others, so long as you both shall live?
Translation: Charles, we'll see you back here in another 24 years.
Charles: That is my resolve.
Translation: Could you repeat the question?
Archbishop: Camilla, have you resolved to be faithful to your husband?
Translation: Camilla, do you have any idea what you're getting yourself into?
Camilla: That is my resolve.
Translation: Do you want the long answer or the short answer?
Archbishop: Will you, their families and friends, support and uphold them in their marriage?
Translation: Hurry up! I've got another five weddings to get through today!
All say: We will.
Translation: We will until Rupert Murdoch comes knocking for an interview.
