“My client is not guilty. Seriously. I mean it. If I weren't serious I wouldn't do this,” said Geragos, while his cheeks slowly turned blue during a press conference in which he swore his client's innocence.

“He is too guilty,” countered an unfazed Tom Sneddon, Santa Barbara district attorney, in another press conference five minutes later.

“Is not,” replied Geragos in a second press conference held five minutes after Sneddon's.

“Is too,” countered Sneddon again in his second press conference.

“Is not.”

“Is too.”

“Is not!”

...

Three days later, both sides chose to negotiate a timetable for the trial that would not interfere with their busy press conference schedules.
