TELEVISION Dr. Phil Won't Tell Couple Solution To Their Problem Even After Extremely Long Commercial Break
The Robertsons, whose eight-year marriage has recently undergone a series of rough patchesThe Larry Ellison 'Don't You Losers Wish You Could Have Your Own Game' Same Game
Having released their emotional baggage before a nationwide audience, the Baltimore couple waited through commercials on antacids, life insurance, fast food, deodorants, soft drinks, three different retailers and two station identifications only to be denied the advice they had so desperately sought in order to save their rocky marriage. âHi, we're back,â started Dr. Phil after a 15-minute commercial break which seemed like an eternity. âAnd its time to reveal the key to what's causing a huge divide in Dave and Mary's marriage. But I don't really feel like it.â âNo, sorry, not today. Let them figure it out for themselves,â taunted the self-help guru in a mocking, sneering voice. Yet the unusually malicious Dr. Phil had only just begun his diatribe. âYou think you've got problems? Did either of you ever stop and take a minute to think about me? Do you think I don't have problems? Listening to whiners like you day in and day out is beginning to drive me crazy. I can't take it anymore. Do you think my wife doesn't nag me? Do you think my kids aren't the biggest brats in the world now that I have become a multi-million-dollar psychological ubermensch?â he exclaimed, as producers scrambled in vain to find a gracious way to end the show. |
